Jacqueline Hansen is the former host of The Close, on BNN Bloomberg. Based in Toronto, Canada, the daily show provided in-depth market coverage for the trading day and analysis with experts, portfolio managers and company executives.
Before joining BNN Bloomberg, Jacqueline was the Senior Business Reporter at CBC News, where she filed stories for CBC's national TV and radio programs, including The National, World Report, and World at Six, appeared live on CBC News Network, and wrote for CBC.ca.
Prior to taking on a role as a full-time reporter, Jacqueline's journalism career began as a producer on CBC's flagship business shows (The Lang & O'Leary Exchange; The Exchange with Amanda Lang).
Jacqueline's small town roots growing up in British Columbia, as well as time spent working in Halifax, Nova Scotia, drive a passion to connect the big headlines to the people and businesses affected.
Pre-pandemic, as a Professor of Journalism at Seneca College, Jacqueline taught a new course on cross-platform reporting. It aimed to help prepare the next generation of journalists to be multi-disciplinary — reporting on TV, radio and the web.
Jacqueline has completed her Canadian Securities Course (CSC), has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from York University and a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca College.
